Graduated in Biological Sciences - Medical Modality at the Medical School of Ribeirão Preto-FMRP (1978), MA in Physiology by FMRP (1982), doctorate in Physiology by FMRP and University of Texas at Dallas (1988), post doctorates at Southwestern Medical Center - University of Texas at Dallas and the Bowman Gray School of Medicine of Wake Forest University, NC, USA. It is currently Associate Professor 3 at School of Dentistry of Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo. She was the Brazilian coordinator of the "Fogarty International Training Program", of Oregon National Primate Research Center, Oregon Health Sciences University, member of the Strategic Action Committee of the "International Neuroendocrine Federation" (INF), Latin America's representative in the Council of INF, Secretary General of INF, Secretary General and Vice-President of the Brazilian Society for Neuroscience and Behavior (SBNeC). She is expert in the area of physiology on the theme "Regulatory and neuroendocrine effects of stress on female reproductive function."
