Graduated in Mechanical Engineering by USP (1983), master in Mechanics by the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble, France (1990), master in Mechanical Engineering by USP (1989), doctor in Mechanics by the Université Joseph Fourier, France (1992). Formerly, also visiting researcher fellow at Cranfield University, England (2002-2003), and visiting professor at the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble, France (2007-2008). At present, associate professor at the Engineering School, University of Sao Paulo with current research activities in the area of Bioacoustics and Underwater Acoustics. He is owner of patents and author of dozens of papers published in international scientific journals as well as in international and national conferences. He is also in charge of industrial development and research projects as well as of international cooperation academic agreeements. He is presently scientific advisor of Brazilian research financial institutions (CNPq and FAPESP), and of national and international scientific journals. He coordinate the Acoustic and Environment Laboratory (Laboratório de Acústica e Meio Ambiente - LACMAM). (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
