Served as Head of the Research and Development Department at Embrapa Environment (20152022) and has experience as a researcher or visiting scientist at CanaVialis/Monsanto (Brazil), Wageningen University (Netherlands), Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (USA), the University of Lausanne (Switzerland), Rothamsted Research (United Kingdom), and the University of Cambridge (United Kingdom). He is a member of the scientific committee of the PROMISE research program (Gates Foundation) and member of the curator council Regenera - The AgriBiz. His research focuses on decoding the "cry for help" hypothesis, aiming to uncover how the rhizosphere microbiome aids plants in overcoming challenges such as nutrient scarcity, drought, and pathogens.
