Graduated in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Campina Grande (1996), master's degree in Meteorology from the University of São Paulo (1999) and PhD in Meteorology from the University of São Paulo (2004). He served in the National Supply Company (Conab), as a senior consultant and advisor in remote sensing programs, GIS and meteorology, through the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). He was a researcher at the National Institute for Space Research. Has experience in several areas such as climatology and meteorology by satellite, with an emphasis on remote sensing of surface and agrometeorology, acting on the following topics: MONITORING SURFACE CLIMATE VARIABILITY, CROP YIELD FORECAST by SATELLITE, GIS (Geographic Information System), LANDSAT, MODIS, CBERS, ALOS, SAR, SENTINEL, AVHRR and SPOT-vEGETATION, POLDER, vegetation and temperature indices from the surface, the surface emissivity, spectral albedo, bidirectional reflectance functions, radiative transfer codes, climatology, precipitation and statistical techniques.
