Veterinarian by Universidade Estadual Paulista Julio de Mesquita Filho, Jaboticabal UNESP, Brazil (1980), Master in Animal Nutrition from the University of São Paulo, USP, São Paulo, Brazil (1984), PhD in Animal Science from UNESP Jaboticabal, Brazil (1990), Post-doctor in rumen microbiology at Ohio State University, Wooster, USA (1993), Associate Professor (1996) and Full Professor at USP (2001), MBA in Management from FUNDACE, Ribeirao Preto, Brazil (2004), Post-doctorate in molecular biology at CSIRO Livestock Industries, Queensland Bioscience Precinct, Brisbane, Australia (2007-2008). Currently holds the position of Full Professor, Chairman of International Relations Comission from Faculty of Animal Science and Food Engineering, University of São Paulo, Campus Pirassununga. He has experience in Animal Science with an emphasis on water buffalo production and ruminant nutrition. Develops research involving: dynamics, digestion, degradability, fermentation and microbial synthesis and ciliated protozoa population in the rumen; technique in vitro of gas production, nutrition and production of buffaloes and evaluation of the use of additives. It is responsible for teaching courses: Water Buffalo Production, Ruminant Nutrition Practice (Undergraduate); Technological Advances in Ruminal Metabolism and Self-Confidence and Public Speaking Techniques (Graduate) in FZEA / USP.
