Graduated in Dentistry from the University of São Paulo (FOUSP, 1980). She has a Master's degree in the Oral Diagnosis Program (1989) and a PhD in the Oral Pathology Program (1993), both from FOUSP. Performed a internship research Program with Capes fellowship (1991-1993) and then Post-Doctorate at the National Institutes of Health, NIH (1993-1994) in the United States with Fogarty Foundation fellowship. Degree in Oral Pathology at FOUSP (2001). Since 2011 is a Full Professor at FOUSP. She was coordinator of the FOUSP Graduate Program and Chairman of the FOUSP Graduate Commission. Since 2012, she has been a guest professor at the Lasers in Dentistry Graduate Program at RWTH Aachen University in Germany, where she mentors students and teaches the Low Level Laser Therapy course. Since 2019 she has been a visiting professor at the UTE University of Quito, Ecuador. Coordinated the first International Doctorate (Dinter) of Brazil approved by Capes between FOUSP and the Faculty of Dentistry of the Central University of Ecuador (2016-2018). Since 2019 she is a professor at the Faculty of Dentistry of the Ibirapuera University (UNIb) where she coordinates the UNIb Graduate Program. She is a member of the editorial board of national and international journals and is an associate editor of Lasers in Dental Sciences and laser international magazine of laser dentistry. He is a reviewer for several international magazines and national funding agencies. Since 2018 she is a member of the Executive Board of the International Society for Laser Dentistry (ISLD) and vice president of the Brazilian Association of Laser Dentistry and Health (ABLOS). She is currently a member of the Capes Dentistry Evaluation Committee. Has experience in Dentistry, with emphasis on photobiomodulation therapy, being leader of CNPq research group "Lasers in Dentistry". He has been acting on the following subjects: laser biological effects, especially on tissue regeneration using human dental pulp stem cells, and biocompatibility of dental materials, using in vitro research techniques based on cell culture and in vivo with laboratory animals.
