I am currently an Alexander von Humboldt Foundation Research Fellow at the Department of Anthropology of the Americas, University of Bonn, Germany. I am also an Associate Professor of History at Rio de Janeiro State University, Brazil, and a recipient of a research grant from the Brazilian agency CNPq since 2019. Since 2016, I held fellowships at Vanderbilt University and at the Benson Latin American Collection at the University of Texas at Austin. Between 2013 and 2016, I was a Postdoctoral Researcher Fellow affiliated with the Department of Latin American History at the University of Seville, Spain, and a recipient of a research grant from the Centre for Latin American Research and Documentation, Amsterdam, Holland. I hold a Ph.D. in History from the University of São Paulo. During the preparation of my doctoral dissertation, I conducted research in Spain and Portugal, affiliated with the Technical University of Lisbon, and the University of Seville. In 2014, I received a Scientific Award by Casa da América Latina and Santander Totta for the best Doctoral Thesis in the category of Social Sciences and Humanities. I have published two books and several articles in peer-reviewed journals, and my current research project examines Jesuit missions in the South American lowlands. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
