He is a Full Professor at the Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES) in the fields of Preventive Medicine and Public Health. Currently, he is a Level 1B Researcher at CNPq in the area of Public Health an Adjunct Professor at the School of Medicine at the University of Limerick, Ireland (https://www.ul.ie/ehs/medicine/about/faculty-staff-and-structure/adjunct-faculty), and a Full Researcher/Supervisor in the Medical Sciences Program at the Faculty of Medicine, University of São Paulo (Medical Sciences Program), Brazil. He also leads the COVID-19 Observatory Brazil/Ireland, conducting research on COVID-19 incidence, lethality, and mortality in Brazil and Ireland, as well as on stroke-related mortality outcomes.
