Birthplace: Brazil

Holds a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of São Paulo (1987-1991), a residency in Large Animal Clinic and Surgery (1992-1993), a masters degree in Veterinary Clinic (1998-2000), and a Ph.D. in Veterinary Clinic (2001-2005), all from the University of São Paulo. Completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Veterinary Medicine at the Department of Internal Medicine (2006) and another postdoctoral fellowship in Preventive Veterinary Medicine and Animal Health (2008-2011) at the same institution. Currently, he is a level VI scientific researcher at the Pasteur Institute of the São Paulo State Department of Health, working in the Virology/Molecular Biology field. He is an accredited advisor for the Graduate Program in Experimental and Comparative Pathology at FMVZ/USP at both the Masters and Ph.D. levels. Accredited professor of the Lato Sensu Postgraduate course at the School of Public Health of the São Paulo State Department of Health. Additionally, he is a member of the State Committee for Rabies Surveillance and Control, representing the Rabies Diagnosis Laboratory of the Pasteur Institute. He has experience in Preventive Veterinary Medicine, focusing on infectious diseases and zoonoses, with emphasis on the following topics: Development and improvement of molecular diagnostic techniques; Host-pathogen interactions in diseases of interest to animal and public health; Neurological diseases in domestic animals; Viral encephalitis in animals; Rabies; Herpesviruses.
