Has a PhD in Physics (2004) from the State University at Campinas (UNICAMP), and worked as assistant researcher at the Brazilian Institute for Space Research between 2004 and 2008. Since 2008 is a faculty at the Physics Institute of the University of Sao Paulo. Works on understanding the role of water vapor and clouds on the climate system and how it might be changed by anthropogenic influences especially changes in aerosols. Has particular interest on large-scale water vapor transport and the importance of the Amazon forest for the moisture recycling and subtropical precipitation over South America. Worked with physical parameterizations in climate models, particularly radiation and convection, and the development of the Brazilian Earth System Model. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
