She holds a degree in Social Sciences from the Federal University of Pernambuco (1992), a master's degree in Anthropology (1996) and a PhD in Sociology (2001) from the same university. Post-Doctorate (2003) and Associate Professor (2016) from the University of São Paulo. Visiting Scholar at the Center of Latin American Studies, University of Cambridge-UK (2017). She has experience in Social Sciences and Collective Health/ Public Health, working mainly on the following topics: Intersectionality and the health-illness process; Masculinities and health; Sexuality and HIV prevention, Vaccine Hesitancy and Qualitative research. She is currently the Head of Preventive Medicine Department and Vice President of the FM USP Graduate Commission. CNPq Research Productivity Scholarship (Level 2), since 2011. Leader of the Research Group (CNPq) Health, Intersectionality and Social Markers of Difference (SIMAS). Associate Editor of the Ciência & Saúde Coletiva Journal and Revista de Saúde Pública.
