He is a Veterinarian graduated from the School of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science at the University of São Paulo (FMVZ-USP, 2005). He has a doctorate degree in Experimental and Comparative Pathology (FMVZ-USP, 2010) and a postdoctoral degree in experimental gastroenterology (FMUSP, 2011). He is associate professor at the Department of Pathology at FMVZ-USP. He was president of the International Office (CCInt) at FMVZ-USP and vice-coordinator of the Graduate Program in Experimental and Comparative Pathology (CAPES Note 6). He is an affiliate member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences (ABC), Agricultural Sciences area. He has experience in the field of experimental and comparative patology, with focus on the study of (inter)cellular communication in in vitro and in vivo models of liver fibrosis/cirrhosis, metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD/MASH) and hepatocarcinogenesis, besides the comparative study of liver neoplasms in dogs and cats.
