The CNPq Researcher (concept 1A) Ciro Marcondes Filho is the creator of the New Theory of Communication, which gives basis for the establishment of the field of communication in the humanities starting from the maturation and the operationalization of the concept of communication, and from its specific way of research, the metaporos. Bachelor of Social Sciences and Journalism (USP / SP), Doctor from the University of Frankfurt, a post-doctorate from the University of Grenoble (France), is a professor of ECA-USP since 1987. Taught in graduate without repetition, over 43 different courses, 23 of them on the New Theory of Communication. Currently coordinates the FiloCom Centre of Philosophical Studies in Communication, ECA-USP. From 1992 to 2000, he was coordinator of the NTC Studies and Research Center in New Technologies, Communication and Culture of USP, where he edited 37 magazines Atractor entranho, held 45 academic meetings, 5 international conferences and published 5 books. Already, in FiloCom, he published in 2002 and in 2004, the first and the second volume of the trilogy New Theory of Communication. In 2010/11 he completed the work with the publication of 5 books of Volume III of the New Theory. In 2011, he proposed the creation the National Network of Research Groups in communication, linking several research centers across the country. Between 2013 and 2016 he was involved in International Triangulation of Communication project, working together with colleagues from Chicago and Zurich in the discussion of the topic "Communication and Alterity." In 2014, promoted the FiloCom Project "Quinta Essencial", bringing together 5 large communication names in Brazil discussing among themselves their proposals in a wheel debates that should be extended for the next semester. He formed several researchers who are today a reference in Brazil in the areas of communication, image, cyberculture and journalism. Has served as lecturer at home and abroad, he produced over 50 books in the fields of communication, journalism, politics, philosophy, psychoanalysis. He was editor of several magazines (Communication and Arts, Communication & Politics, Strange Attractor), translated Niklas Luhmann for the Portuguese. It is responsible for the collection "Philosophy of Communication", by the Editora Paulus, proposing titles. revising translations of English, French and German. In journalism, he was editor of the Journal of the USP, newspaper contributor to LEIA Journal, former columnist to Caros Amigos magazine and former commentator for Radio USP for "The Gay Science " column. In radio, he produced 57 programs in the series The World Theatre The Song on Radio USP, a collection hosted by the MIS / SP (Museum of Image and Sound) . (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
