Cleusa Ferri is a psychiatrist and epidemiologist. She holds a master's degree in psychobiology and a doctorate in psychiatry from the Federal University of São Paulo (EPM-UNIFESP) and a master's degree in epidemiology from the School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine at the University of London LSHTM. She has contributed to several World Alzheimer Report which is published annually by Alzheimer's Disease International-ADI; national dementia reports from India and the United Kingdom and was one of several experts advising the World Health Organization on the creation of a treatment/care proposal for dementia to be used in the primary health care network in low-resource countries (MHGap-dementia ). In the last 9 years, in Brazil, she has written chapters in national and international books on the subject and received invitations to write comments in prominent journals such as PLOS Medicine. She also participated, at the invitation of the World Health Organization (WHO), in the preparation of the Risk Reduction Guidelines for Cognitive Decline and Dementia published in 2019 by WHO. Her current research interests focus in the epidemiology and care provision for the mental health of older people. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
