Graduated in Materials Engineering from Federal University of São Carlos (1976), MSc in Mechanical Engineering from the State University of Campinas (1978), doctorate in Welding Technology - Cranfield University (1982) and post-doctorate in Management of Technological Innovation - Michigan State University (2008). He is currently Chairman of the Brazilian Association of Metallurgy, Mining and Materials, Executive Director of the Center for Development and Characterization of Materials, and Associate Professor at the Federal University of São Carlos. Has experience in the area of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering and Management of Technological Innovation, mainly in the following areas: welding, materials and innovation.
