Graduated in Agronomy from the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (1968), earned the master degree in Irrigation and Drainage (1988) and DS in Agronomy (1994) by the College of Agriculture Luiz de Queiroz, the University of São Paulo. Began the professional career working in the private sector, especially in consulting for planning and use of water and soil resources, with emphasis on irrigated agriculture. Currently is working as Associate Professor at the Federal University of São Carlos, with a capacity in the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of its Agricultural Science Center, campus Araras-SP, where is responsible for teaching the disciplines Agricultural Hydraulic, Water Relationships in the Soil, Water,Atmosphere System and Irrigation and Drainage. Also exercises activities related to research and extension. In the period from 20/01/2010 to 30/01/2014 served as Professor and advisor in the post-graduation course of Agriculture and the Environment of the Federal University of São Carlos. Has extensive experience in agricultural engineering, with special emphasis on soil and water engineering, where operates mainly in issues related to water resources management with emphasis on irrigation, soil physics and water consumption by major agronomic crops grown under conditions of ambient protected and in field. Throughout his career as a teacher has been honored many times by his current and former students.
