Dr. Wuensche has a degree in physics from the State University of Rio de Janeiro, a M.Sc. degree in Astrophysics from the National Institute for Space Research and a Ph.D. in Astrophysics from the National Institute of Space Research, with a 2 1/2 year internship at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is a senior researcher at the National Institute for Space Research. He has experience in Astronomy, with emphasis on Cosmology, acting mainly on the following themes: Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation (CMBR), Cosmology, Galactic Emission in Microwaves, and Instrumentation in Radio Astronomy. He has participated in several international projects related to the study of Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation since 1991. He is also interested in Astrobiology, with a focus in habitability and astrochemistry. He was Head of the Astrophysics Division (2002 - 2004) and Chief of Staff of the INPE Director (2012 - 2016). He is currently the head of the Experimental Cosmology group of the Astrophysics Division/INPE, member of the Technical-Scientific Council (CTC) of INPE (2020 - 2022) and PI of the BINGO project (BAO Intergalactic Neutral Gas Observations), in partnership with USP, Univ. Federal of Campina Grande, Univ. Manchester (England) and YangZhou University (China) (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
