Doctor in Applied Physics (Instituto de Física de São Carlos - USP), Francisco C. B. Maia works chiefly in the experimental area of the Condensed Matter Physics, with enphasis at optics, optics for near-field, nano-optics and vibrational spectroscopy. He has expertise in solid state lasers. In the branch of materials, his research has been focused in conjugated polymers, carbon allotropes and two-dimensional materials - all related to semiconductors. Currently, he is researcher at the Infrared Nanospectroscopy Beamline at the Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
The light-matter interaction in two-dimensional photonics crystals occur, primarily, via formation of polaritons, quasi-particules with sub-drifractional wavelength associated to material resonances like vibrations and free charge waves. In this investigation, we will study plasmons-polaritons of graphene (G), phonon-polaritons of hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) and theplasmon-phonon-pola...
