Holds a Bachelor's degree in Agronomic Engineering from the University of São Paulo (1972), a Master's degree in Agronomy (Plant Science) from the University of São Paulo (1975), a Ph.D. in Agronomy (Plant Science) from the University of São Paulo (1980), and is an Associate Professor (2006) in the Department of Forest Sciences at ESALQ/USP. Currently serves as a Full Professor in the Department of Forest Sciences at the Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture, University of São Paulo. Also holds positions as a Visiting Professor at the University of Cuyo-Argentina and the National Agrarian University La Molina-Peru. Has extensive experience in the field of Forest Resources and Forest Engineering, with emphasis on Anatomy and Identification of Forest Products, primarily focusing on wood anatomy and identification, dendrochronology, dendrology, and X-ray densitometry applied to the study of wood and growth rings. Served as Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Forest Sciences (1990-91) and in Wood Science and Technology (1996-97; 1998-99). Coordinated the Graduate Program in Forest Resources at ESALQ/USP (2009 to 2012) and was Head of the Department of Forest Sciences - ESALQ/USP (2012 to 2016). (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
