Maria A Nagai received her bachelor's degree in Biology at the University of São Paulo (1980) and her Ph.D. in Biochemistry at the University of São Paulo (1987). Postdoctoral fellowship at Cancer Research Campaign Human Cancer Genetics Research Group, Department of Pathology, University of Cambridge, Cambridge, UK, 1993. She is an Associate Professor at the Discipline of Oncology, Department of Radiology and Oncology, Medical School, University of São Paulo. Coordinator of the Molecular Genetics Laboratory and DNA Sequencing Core Facility at the Center for Translational Oncology, Cancer Institute for the State of São Paulo. Her research projects have received continuous funding from Fundação de Amparo a Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP) and Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq). She has experience in Biochemistry, focusing on Molecular Biology, acting on the following subjects: solid tumors, breast cancer, gene expression, 2D and 3D cell culture, functional genomics, and molecular genetics. Her lab focuses on identifying and characterizing new molecular prognostic and predictive biomarkers in breast cancer. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
