The group's work seeks to understand how environmental and social factors influence children's oral health, recognizing the importance of oral health as a fundamental component of overall well-being and healthy development in childhood. The group received support from FAPESP for the establishment and equipping of the Molecular Biology and Cell Culture Laboratory within the Department of Pediatric Clinic, through a Young Researcher Grant (2011-2015). Research supervision activities encompass pre-undergraduate, undergraduate, and graduate levels (Master's, Ph.D., and direct Ph.D.) with funding obtained from FAPESP, CAPES, CNPq (PIBIC, PIBIC-EM, and WASH), and the Undergraduate Dean's Office (PUB - Unified Scholarship Program). The group values diversity and acts as a facilitator in affirmative actions, securing resources and providing scholarships to pre-undergraduate students from public schools and to undergraduate students. Coordinates a health education project entitled "Oral Health Literacy," aimed at connecting children and adolescents to scientific knowledge in the dental field. This project not only raises awareness of oral health but also strives to prevent health misinformation by providing accurate and accessible information. Through free short courses and the creation of digital content for platforms like YouTube and Instagram, the project seeks to disseminate knowledge in an engaging and accessible manner.
