Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Campinas (1987), Master in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Campinas (1990) and PhD in Solid Mechanics at the University of Campinas (1996). Post-doc at the Center for Scientific Computation at the University of Kentucky (1997-1999) and the Division of Applied Mathematics at Brown University (2010 and 2014). The main research area is related to Structural Computational Engineering with emphasis on continuum mechanics, high-order finite element method, high-performance object-oriented programming and more recently hose field models for the analysis of damage, fracture and fatigue in metals and polymers.
