Graduated in Pharmacy and Biochemistry from the University of São Paulo (1985), master's (1990) and doctorate (1996) in Pharmacology from the University of São Paulo. Since 2014, is Associate Professor in the Department of Clinical Analysis and Toxicological of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of São Paulo. Has experience in the area of neurodegeneration, such as Alzheimer's disease, oxidative stress. Current research area is on Toxicology, with emphasis on neurotoxicity of cigarette smoke, methylecgonidine (pyrolysis product of cocaine) and in the search for new alternatives for the treatment of substance use disorder.
