Antônio Pedro Ricomini Filho

Professor of the Biochemistry Area of the Biosciences Department of the Piracicaba Dental School (FOP) of the University of Campinas (UNICAMP). He is currently coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Dentistry at FOP, and is a permanent professor in the area of Cariology. He participated as a member and currently serves as President of the Internal Biosafety Commission (CIBio) of the FOP. He participated as a member of the FOP Covid-19 Crisis Committee and participates as a member of the FOP Permanent Commission on Dental Materials. He serves as President of the FOP Internationalization Relations Committee. He graduated in Dentistry (2006) from FOP-UNICAMP, where he also obtained a master's degree (2009) and doctorate (2013) in Dental Clinic in the Area of Dental Prosthesis. He completed a Sandwich Doctoral Internship Abroad-PDSE (2011 to 2012) at the Institute of Oral Biology, University of Oslo (Norway). Researcher who is part of and responsible for the activities in Brazil of the international education and research collaboration project between Norway (University of Oslo - UiO), Brazil (Faculty of Dentistry of Piracicaba - UNICAMP), Canada (McGill University), India (Tata Consultancy Services , Lady Hardinge Medical College) and the United States (University of Illinois at Chicago - UIC, Oregon Health Science University - OHSU, and Forsyth Institute). He has experience in Dentistry, with an emphasis on Cariology, Oral Biochemistry, Antimicrobial Resistance, Oral Microbiology, Dental Prosthesis and Implantology, working mainly on the following topics: dental biofilm (bacterial and extracellular matrix composition, and control methods), fermentable carbohydrates in the human diet (which contribute to the development of biofilm and caries), fluoridated products for caries control (mainly dentifrices), surface treatments (modification of the titanium surface to favor osseointegration and reduce bacterial adhesion and biofilm formation), denture cleaners to control of biofilm and related diseases.
