Birthplace: Brazil

She has Graduated Degree in Biological Sciences from the State University of Campinas (2006), Master (2009) and PhD (2013) in Genetics and Molecular Biology, specialization in Genetics and Plant Breeding, from the State University of Campinas (CAPES Concept 7). She worked and developed research projects at the State University of Campinas, Campinas Agronomic Institute (IAC), the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA, United States), and the University of California Davis (UCDavis, United States). Currently she is a post-doc at the National Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM, Brazil), the National Biosciences Laboratory (LNBio). She has experience in Genetics and Plant Molecular Biology, with emphasis on plant-pathogen interaction, and knowledge in the areas of gene expression, functional genomics, cloning, genetic engineering, molecular markers, and metabolic and hormonal pathways in plants. Uses the Arabidopsis model plant to enable the study of molecular mechanisms of plant defense that can be applied to crops of economic interest. For this, she participates in multidisciplinary teams in the areas of plant pathology, plant physiology, biochemistry, cell biology, plant breeding, biotechnology and agronomy.
