Graduate at Ciencias Biológicas from Universidade de São Paulo (1976), master (1980) and PhD (1983) at Curso de Pós Graduação da FMRP- USP (Physiology ). Post-Doc in the lab. of Prof. Héctor F. Terenzi (USP/ Ribeirão Preto, Brazil, 1984-1985), in the lab. of Prof. Anthony J.F. Griffiths (UBC/Vancouver, Canada, 1995-1996), in the lab. of Prof. I.B. Heath (York University/ Toronto, Canada, 1998). Since 1985 I am Professor of Industrial Enzymes and of Topics in Biotechnology in FCFRP-USP. I have experience in Biochemistry, focusing on Biochemetry of Microorganisms, acting on the following subjects: fungal enzymes and secondary metabolites produced by fungi. I have colaborated as reviewer with Microbiol. Research, J. Basic Microbiol., Process Biochemistry, Brazilian Arch. Biol. Technol., Brazilian J. of Food Technology, Bioscence Journal and with Fundação de Amparo a Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP) since 1992 and was of National Science Foundation on 2008 and 2009.
