JEAN PIERRE SCHATZMANN PERON COMPLETED THE SPECIALIZATION IN BIOLOGY APPLIED TO HEALTH AT THE STATE UNIVERSITY OF LONDRINA IN 2003. HE FINISHED THE DOCTORATE IN IMMUNOLOGY [SP-CAPITAL] AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SAO PAULO IN MAY 2008. DURING HIS PHD HE VISITED THE LABORATORY OF PROF. HOWARD L. WEINER AT HARVARD MEDICAL SCHOOL, CENTER FOR NEUROLOGIC DISEASES, BOSTON, MA. HIS LAB IS CURRENTLY FOCUSED ON UNDERSTANDING THE INTERACTIONS BETWEEN THE CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM AND THE IMMUNE SYSTEM. ALSO STUDIES THE CELLULAR AND MOLECULAR MECHANISMS INVOLVED IN THE PATHOGENESIS OF MICROCEPHALY CAUSED BY ZIKA VIRUSES IN EXPERIMENTAL MODELS. HE IS CURRENTLY ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF THE DEPARTMENT OF IMMUNOLOGY - USP SÃO PAULO AND SINCE JULY 2019 HE IS A G4 ASSOCIATED RESEARCHER OF THE PASTEUR SCIENTIFIC PLATFORM - USP. HAS THEMATIC PROJECT - FAPESP. HE PUBLISHED 61 ARTICLES IN SPECIALIZED JOURNALS WITH MORE THAN 2600 CITATIONS (FATOR H=18). (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
