Nonato was awarded a Bachelor in Linguistics by Universidade Estadual de Campinas (2005), a Master's in Linguistics by Universidade Estadual de Campinas (2008) and a PhD in Linguistics by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2013). He currently is a post-doctoral fellow at the Programa de Pós Graduação em Antropologia Social do Museu Nacional, UFRJ and associate researcher at Museu do índio do Rio de Janeiro. He has experience in the area of Linguistics, with a focus in Indigenous Languages, working specially on the following themes: indigenous languages, k sêdjê, bororo, syntax, morphology and generative theory.
