Holds a Bachelors degree in Biological Sciences (Teaching License) from São Paulo State University (UNESP), Botucatu campus. He holds a Masters and a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences, with a concentration in Zoology, also from UNESP Botucatu, having completed the Masters program in 2009 and the Ph.D. in 2013. He conducted three postdoctoral fellowships, all focused on the evolution and diversity of Neotropical fish, consolidating expertise in phylogenetic, evolutionary, and ecological studies. Currently, he is a professor at Santo Amaro University (UNISA), where he teaches courses in Genetics, Molecular Biology, Cytogenetics, Cell Biology, Phylogenetic Systematics, Zoology, Evolution, One Health, and Environment and Sustainability. He coordinates the university extension program UNISA Preserve, dedicated to environmental preservation and the promotion of sustainability. He is a permanent researcher in the Graduate Program in One Health (PPG Saúde Única) at UNISA, advising Masters and Ph.D. students in projects related to the health of animals and aquatic environments. He leads the Animal Biology research group, registered with CNPq, focusing on the research line Evolution of Neotropical Fish and Bioindicators of Aquatic Environments, contributing to scientific advancements in the field.
