Graduated in Dentistry from the University of São Paulo (1989), Master of Science / Biochemistry from the State University of Campinas (1994) and PhD in Sciences / Chemistry from the State University of Campinas (1998). He completed post-doctoral studies in Cellular and Molecular Biology at the Institute of Chemistry of the University of São Paulo (1999-2000). He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of São Paulo in 2001. He is currently a Senior Specialist in Metrology and Quality at the National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology (Inmetro). He is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Dentistry of the Fluminense Federal University. Collaborates with the Technological Center of the Marine Corps (CTecCFN). He works in the field of Tissue Bioengineering with emphasis on Biomaterials and Bone Biology, in vitro toxicology, cell therapy, development of equivalent tissues, alternative methods to animal use and safety of nanomaterials. Coordinated the Nanotox Network and the project to implement the National Network of Alternative Methods (RENAMA); worked in the consortia Nanovalid and NanoReg (CE / FP7). He was a member of the National Council of Biotechnology (CNB) and the Nanotechnology Advisory Council / MCTI (CCNano). Participated in the National Council for Control of Animal Experimentation (CONCEA) of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) between 2012 and 2016, and was its coordinator between 2014 and 2016.
