She holds a degree in Pharmacy-Biochemistry from the School of Pharmacy and Dentistry of Alfenas (1989), a Master's in Dentistry (Pharmacology) from the State University of Campinas (1993), and a PhD in Dentistry (Pharmacology) from the State University of Campinas (1997), including a Sandwich PhD at the University of Rochester. Currently, she is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Dentistry of Piracicaba, UNICAMP, Department of Biosciences, Biochemistry Division. She is also part of the Graduate Program in Dentistry at the same institution. Her research expertise lies in the field of Cariology, primarily addressing topics such as dental caries, fluoride, in vitro and in situ studies, dental biofilm and fluoridated dentifrices. She served as Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Dentistry from 2010 to 2014 and as General Coordinator of the Graduate Programs at the Faculty of Dentistry of Piracicaba from 2014 to 2018. At IADR, she currently holds the position of Councilor for the IADR Cariology Research Group, Chair of the IADR Osteology Foundation New Investigator Award in Oral Tissue Regeneration Committee, and member of the Review Committee for the IADR Dianne Rekow Mentoring in Science Award.
