Bachelor of Chemistry from the University of São Paulo (1982), Master's and PhD in Chemistry (Physics and Chemistry) from the University of São Paulo (1985 and 1991 respectively). She is currently Associate Professor at the USP Institute of Chemistry with expertise in Raman spectroscopy. Research topics in progress: applications of Raman spectroscopy in art, archaeology and cultural heritage, forensic chemistry, studies on intercalates and on the interaction of biological molecules with surfaces.
