Birthplace: Brazil

Professor Alline Campos has a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (2005), an M.Sc and Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of São Paulo (2006-2011), with a sandwich period at the Complutense University of Madrid (Spain - 2009-2010 ). Postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2011-2013) and the Department of Molecular Biology and Neuronal Signaling at the Max-Planck Institute for Experimental Medicine in the city of Gottingen-Germany (2014- 2015). Boehringer Ingelheim Fonds short-term visits program in Prof. Dr. Gerd Kempermann's lab at the Center for Regenerative Therapies in Dresden-Germany. Joined the Department of Pharmacology at the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto -USP, where she leads the Pharmacology laboratory of (Neuro) plasticity. Her research group studied the molecular and biochemical aspects of NEURO-REGENERATION in the context of neuropsychopharmacology. Her group seeks to understand how our daily experiences, environmental factors (such as stress), changes in the intestinal microbiota, and some inflammatory and infectious diseases can negatively modulate neuroplasticity. In her lab, they use experimental in vitro, in vivo, and translational approaches to find new targets for treating anxiety disorders, major depression, autism spectrum disorder, and neurodegenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer's. An Advocate of diversity and in the promotion of Women in Science projects, in 2015 she was one of the laureates of For Women of Science award (L'oreal-UNESCO-ABC). She is also one of the founders of the project aiming scientific dissemination of the science made by women, Vírginias da Ciência ( (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
