(Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Roberto is an undergraduate in Physics (PUC-SP, 1988) and has a Master's and Doctorate in Sciences ( Physical Oceanography -- University of São Paulo - 2000). Currently, he is a Professor at the Institute of Biosciences of the Universidade Estadual Paulista - UNESP - Campus do Litoral Paulista and is responsible for the following subjects: Mathematics; Oceanography & Meteorology; Coastal Oceanography; Mathematical Modeling Applied to Environmental Management and "Introduction to Marine Data Science w Python." He has experience in Oceanography, emphasizing ocean dynamics. The main interests are coastal circulation, time series analysis mathematical modeling, circulation on the continental shelf, estuaries, and coastal channels. Specifically, it is dedicated to developing numerical models applied to Coastal Management (marine currents and coastal pollution; sediment transport; Water Quality models for different effluents). Participates in the following Research Groups: (1) Integrated Spatial Analysis of Coastal and Oceanic Environments; (2) Ecology of Microorganisms in Marine Environments, and (3) Core Studies on Pollution and Aquatic Ecotoxicology.
