Gildo Girotto Júnior

I am an associate professor at the Chemistry Institute of the State University of Campinas. I graduated from UNESP - Araraquara Campus and completed my master's and doctorate in Chemistry Teaching through the Interunit Graduate Program in Science Teaching at the University of São Paulo. I worked as an external research intern (postdoctorate) at the University of Porto - Portugal during the years 2023 and 2024. I was a basic education teacher for 9 years, working in state, municipal, federal schools, in private educational institutions and in preparatory courses for university entrance exams. In 2016, I entered higher education at the Federal University of Lavras and in 2017 I began my career at the State University of Campinas. Throughout my career, the research developed has focused on the area of #8203;#8203;teacher training with an emphasis on the analysis and development of professional and technological knowledge for teaching, interdisciplinary practices and proposals for scientific dissemination, involving investigations on the nature of Science and scientific denialism. I have worked as a mentor for PIBID scholarship holders and currently as a Pedagogical Residency student. My current research focuses on the following areas: research on training and development of professional knowledge and expertise in teaching; development and analysis of teaching materials for teaching chemistry using technology; and research on scientific dissemination. Within these areas, one of my current areas of interest involves the study of digital teaching skills, STEM and STEAM educational practices, and the use of artificial intelligence systems.
