I received my MSc and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering respectively in 2002 and 2009. Currently, I am a Professor at a private higher education institution in Brazil on the Graduate Program of Informatics where I advise master?s and doctoral students. In addition, I am an Associate Researcher at a Signal Processing Group of a public higher education institution at São Paulo, Brazil. In 2016 I started receiving the Scholarship of Productivity in Technological Development and Innovative Extension (Level 2) from CNPq  National Council for Scientific and Technological Development. My research activities also include reviewing articles from scientific journals such as Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence; Robotics and Computer-Integrated Manufacturing; International Journal of Metaheuristics; Journal of Engineering Science & Technology and Measurement, involving the following topics: Image Processing and Computer Vision; Computational Intelligence; Metaheuristics and Machine Learning.
