Luiz Gustavo Oliveira Brito is an Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (DTG) at the Faculty of Medical Sciences (FCM) of the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) and a Full Advisor of the Postgraduate Program (rated 7 by CAPES-Medicine III) since 2016. He was also a Professor in the Medicine Course at the University of Ribeirão Preto (UNAERP). He completed his Postdoctoral studies at Harvard Medical School at Brigham and Women's Hospital. He did his residency in Gynecology and Obstetrics and completed his Master's, Ph.D., and Livre-Docência at FMRP-USP, where he was a Full Advisor of the PG Program in GO (rated 7 by CAPES-Medicine III) from 2012 to 2019. He served as the President of the Brazilian Association of Urogynecology and Pelvic Floor (UROGINAP-BR) for the biennium 2021-2023. He was the president of the Publications Committee and Chair of the Special Interest Group on Urogynecology and Vaginal Surgery of the American Association for Gynecological Laparoscopists (AAGL). He was an Ex-International Advisory Board (IAB) member for Latin America and the Caribbean of the International Urogynecological Association (IUGA). He is currently the Vice-President of the CNE of Urogynecology and Vaginal Surgery of FEBRASGO. He was a former member of the Board of Directors of ALAPP (Latin American Association of Pelvic Floor). He has published 220 articles, 250 abstracts, 18 book chapters, and 3 books. He is an Associate Editor of the Brazilian Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics (RBGO). He has reviewed for over 60 national and international journals (IUJO, AJOG, BJOG, EJOGRB, UOG, Reproductive Sciences, J Women's Health, FPMRS) and research funding agency projects (FAPESP, CNPq), and has reviewed over 250 articles for all these journals. He has participated in over 150 postgraduate thesis committees so far. His current research lines focus on the diagnosis/treatment of Abnormal Uterine Bleeding associated with Uterine Leiomyoma, Gynecological Surgery, and Dysfunctions in Urogynecology.
