Susana Durão has the CNPq research productivity grant. She is Adjunct Professor of Anthropology at the Undergraduation and Graduation Social Sciences amd Anthropology Programmes at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP, São Paulo, Brazil. She is currently Senior Visiting Fellow at Mecila: Maria Sibylla Merian Centre Conviviality-Inequality in Latin America (ccord Freie Universität Berlin). Durão was Research Fellow at the University of Lisbon (Instituto de Ciências Sociais) and was Visiting Scholar at the Summer Program in Social Sciences of the Institute of Advanced Studies, Princeton. She has coordinated the international research project ?Policing and Urban Imaginaries: New Security Formats in Southern Cities?. Durão has secured grants from the Institute of Advanced Studies in Princeton, Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia in Portugal, Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo and Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia e Inovações no Brasil. Durão received the recognition for ?Dedication to Undergraduate Teaching" Prize from UNICAMP in 1999. Her areas of interest are public and private security, hospitality security, urban violence, policing work and inequality, plural policing studies and police training, following urban ethnographic perspectives and theories. She has conducted fieldwork in Portugal, Brazil, and African Lusophone contexts. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
