Roberta Pacheco Damasceno

My research focuses on ecological and evolutionary responses to environmental change at multiples scales and on mechanisms of lineage divergence. My areas of expertise are evolutionary biology, phylogeography, ecology, and herpetology. Since December 2013, in my post-doc at the Institute of Biosciences, Universidade de São Paulo (IB-USP), I have been involved with two projects: ?Hybridization and mechanisms of reproductive isolation in lizards from the Atlantic Forests? and ?Genomic and model-based comparative phylogeography of Atlantic Forest lizards - reconstructing historical demography and divergence history in a hotspot", in collaboration with the City College of New York (CCNY) - City University of New York. I have experience teaching both undergrad and graduate courses in Philosophy of Science, Introduction to Biology, Vertebrate Zoology, Experimental Design and Statistics, Ecology, Herpetology, and Phylogeography. I joined the groups ?Women in Science? (CCNY) and ?IB Women? (IB-USP), both devoted to reduce gender bias and to promote diversity in the classroom and in academia. I have B.A. in Biological Sciences, Universidade Federal da Bahia (2001), Master?s in Zoology, Universidade de São Paulo (2005), and Ph.D. in Integrative Biology, University of California, Berkeley (2013).
