This project aims to explore the abstract theory of the degree of Brouwer and Leray-Schauder, establish the application of this theory to abstract equations, and present an application of the theory of topological degree developed byLeray-Schauder to a class of second order semilinear elliptic equations.
We intend to emphasize applications of the General Topology in the Mathematical Analysis. Applications that we will to explore are derived from the fundamental theorems: Theorem of Banach and Inverse Function and Implicit Theorems.
