He holds a PhD in physics from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (2012). Held postdoctoral position at the University of São Paulo (USP-Brazil) and University of California, UC-Davis, USA. He is currently an assistant professor at the São Carlos Institute of Physics (IFSC) at University of São Paulo (Brazil). His research interests include synthesis of novel semiconductors nanomaterials with appropriated band gap energy for artificial photosynthesis reaction for generation of solar hydrogen. Has experience in the field of electronic and structural characterization of nanomaterials by X - ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).
