My research aims to investigate immunological and inflammatory mechanisms and their association with environmental factors in psychosis, with a focus on identifying new targets for personalized therapeutic interventions. In January 2025, I will begin a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Oxford, United Kingdom, in the Department of Psychiatry, funded by the NIH Oxford Health Biomedical Research Centre. In November 2024, I was honored with the USERN Prize in the Medical Sciences category for my studies on immunological mechanisms in psychosis. Throughout my journey as an early-career researcher, I have received several awards dedicated to young scientists, granted by prestigious international societies, including the Schizophrenia International Research Society, the Society for Biological Psychiatry, the International Society for Psychoneuroendocrinology, the World Federation of Societies of Biological Psychiatry, the British Association for Psychopharmacology, the International Brain Research Organization, the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies, the ALBA Network, and the Elsevier Award from the PsychoNeuroImmunology Research Society. I hold a PhD in Neuroscience (with a focus on immunopsychiatry) and a Masters degree in the same field from the Graduate Program in Neurology and Neurosciences at the Ribeirão Preto Medical School, University of São Paulo (FMRP-USP) CAPES 7, funded by FAPESP (MSc: 16/12195-9; PhD: 19/13229-2). In 2022, I completed a 22-month research internship at the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom (BEPE-PhD/FAPESP: 21/07448-3). In 2018, I conducted a six-month research internship at Kings College London, United Kingdom (FAPESP: 17/17480-6). I hold a Bachelors and Teaching Degree in Nursing, obtained in 2015 from the School of Nursing of Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo (EERP/USP). During my undergraduate studies, I was a Scientific Initiation fellow from 2009 to 2012 (CNPq: 104230/2009-6; 144778/2011-4) and an FAPESP fellow (2013/20175-0) from 2013 to 2014, focusing on psychiatry, physiology, and psychopharmacology. During my undergraduate studies, I also completed a six-month research internship at the Faculty of Nursing, University of Alberta, Canada (October 2012 to April 2013), funded by the USP Academic Merit Scholarship, where I investigated biological mechanisms contributing to women's increased susceptibility to psychiatric disorders. I was also awarded a Science Without Borders scholarship (CNPq: 242975/2013-5) for a one-year exchange program at Goldsmiths, University of London, United Kingdom. Since 2020, I have been affiliated with the Center for Research in Inflammatory Diseases (CRID, CEPID/FAPESP: 2013/08216-2) at FMRP/USP. From 2019 to 2020, I was an associate researcher in a Technological Innovation Program (PIPE/FAPESP: 2018/25927-3), focusing on the use of low-cost systems and devices in health environments integrated into smart homes to monitor users' physical and emotional aspects (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
