He is graduated in veterinary medicine (Universidad Nacional de Colombia, 2011), specialized in data science (Johns Hopkins University, 2015), PhD in epidemiology (University of São Paulo - USP, 2015) and a postdoctoral researcher in public health (USP, 2017). Currently works as a professor at the Department of Preventive Veterinary Medicine and Animal Health (FMVZ-USP). He is a member of the Deliberative Council as well as a permanent researcher of the Research Group on Peripheries (nPeriferias) at the Institute of Advanced Studies (IEA-USP). Main research areas: one health in symbolic and geographic peripheries, collective health, epidemiology, animal population management, Bayesian modeling, mathematical modeling and machine learning.
