Ligiana Costa Araujo

Graduated in lyrical singing at the University of Brasília (2000), specializing in baroque singing at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague (Netherlands), she has a master's degree in Musical Philology with a focus on medieval and Renaissance musical texts held at the Faculty of Musicology of Cremona (2004). PhD in Musicology from the Center for Higher Studies of the Renaissance (Universite de Tours, Francois Rabelais, France) and from the University of Milan (2008) with a thesis on Italian Baroque opera. Performed translations and analysis of Baroque texts of a musicological nature published by Editora da Unesp. He has experience in conducting and programming a classical music radio program (Rádio Cultura FM). Concludes postdoctoral research in 2016 with the help of Fapesp on the Italian manuscript Il Corago, at USP, the book resulting from this work was edited by EDUSP and won the Flaiano Award in Italy in 2018. Artistically develops a career as a popular singer and composer, having four released discs and several participations.
