I received my bachelor?s degree in Chemistry from the Universidade Regional Integrada do Alto Uruguai e das Missões in 2008. I hold my master?s degree in Chemistry issued by Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul in 2010. Between March of 2012 and March of 2013, I participated in interuniversity exchange doctorate at the University of Manchester [Manchester ? UK] with a fellowship from PDSE/CAPES programme. I hold my Ph.D. in Chemistry issued by Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul [UFRGS ? Porto Alegre, Brazil] in 2014. I held the Post-doc Position at Graphene and Nanomaterials Research Centre - [Mackgraphe -São Paulo, Brazil] (2014-2015). On those years studying chemistry, I gained experience on the materials science, meanly with polymers, photochemistry, nanomaterials, surface science, fluorescence, synchrotron radiation, x-ray spectroscopy (XANES, NEXAFS and XPS) and on the last years with mass spectrometry and biotechnology field. As also in advanced materials, nanomaterials, graphene, and 2D-materials. Leader of the research group in Photochemistry and Materials Chemistry (FQMAT) and permanent advisor of Post-Graduation Program in Environmental and Technological Chemistry (PPGQTA). My research is based on advanced materials, surface science, physical chemistry, and photochemistry. Recent projects involve: i) polymeric materials degradation and sustainability; ii) photochemistry applied to synthesis, modification, processing, and degradation of materials and compounds; iii) electromagnetic radiation and matter interaction; iv) surface engineering for technological application and v) study of polymeric solid waste (microplastics) in the marine environment. This project proposes the construction and characterization of a family of Raman fiber lasers to generate ultra-short pulses using saturable absorbers based on graphene.
