Associate professor at the Department of Applied Mathematics at the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics (IME) - University of São Paulo (USP). Habilitation thesis defended in 2019 at USP. Graduated in Applied and Computational Mathematics at Instituto de Matemática e Estatística - Universidade de São Paulo (2006). In the same institute, obtained a Masters degree in 2009, and a PhD in 2013, both related to numerical analysis. Visiting Fellow at the Isaac Newton Institute of Mathematical Sciences (Univ. of Cambridge) for the Multiscale Numerics for the Atmosphere and Ocean Programme, 2012. In 2015, had a year-long sabbatical leave as an Honorary Research Fellow in Mathematics at the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences of the University of Exeter - UK. Main interests are related to numerical modeling of global atmosphere and fluid dynamics on the sphere. Associate Editor of Monthly Weather Review (2015-2020).
