Helena Maria Andre Bolini is a Full Professor at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP). She holds a degree in Biochemical Pharmacy with a specialization in the Pharmaceutical, Medicinal, and Food Industry, a masters degree in Food and Nutrition from São Paulo State University (UNESP), a doctorate in Food Engineering from UNICAMP, and a FAPESP-funded postdoctoral fellowship completed at FCF/UNESP-IQSC/USP-FEA/UNICAMP. She has published over 250 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals with selective editorial policies and has presented more than 500 papers at national and international scientific events. Additionally, she has contributed 19 book chapters to the field. She developed software registered with INPI (Time Intensity of Flavors and Tastes), with its data collection methodology cited as a reference in the 2024 Annual Book of ASTM Standards, and holds a registered trademark (UNISENSES Method). Throughout her career, she has supervised 39 doctoral theses, 36 masters dissertations, 6 postdoctoral projects (5 funded by CNPq and 1 by FAPESP), and 46 undergraduate Scientific Initiation projects. Currently, she is supervising 14 doctoral theses, 2 masters dissertations, and 1 undergraduate research project (PIBIC/CNPq). She is a permanent member of the E18 Committee on Sensory Evaluation of the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) International, where she contributes to the analysis and revision of official methods and protocols in sensory evaluation of food and beverages. Furthermore, she serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Sensory Studies (Wiley), Food Chemistry Advances (Elsevier), and Foods (MDPI). She is also the Latin American representative on the Committee for Global Outreach of the Society of Sensory Professionals. Her expertise lies in Food Science and Technology, with a focus on Sensory Science and Consumer Studies. Her primary research interests include food research, development, and innovation guided by sensometrics, Quantitative Descriptive Analysis, psychophysics, sweeteners, consumer preference studies, and multiple time-intensity analysis. She served as the Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Food and Nutrition at UNICAMP from 2007 to 2011 and as the Head of the Department of Food and Nutrition at FEA-UNICAMP from 2003 to 2007 and again from 2011 to 2017. She leads the Laboratory of Sensory Science and Consumer Studies and the Laboratory of Sensometrics at FEA-UNICAMP. Helena Maria Andre Bolini conceptualized and organized the international events "1st and 2nd International Congress on Advances of Sensory Science and Consumer Research" in 2023 and 2024, hosted at UNICAMP, with the 3rd edition planned for 2025. In 2022, she was appointed to the ASTM International task group for reviewing and approving discriminative methods in sensory analysis. She also contributes to the technical analysis of methods, protocols, and statistics in sensory science and consumer studies across various ASTM International committees, including E18 Sensory Evaluation and its numerous subcommittees on terminology, sensory theory, fundamentals, applications, and strategic planning.
