Bruno Henrique Sardinha de Souza

I am Assistent Professor 2 in Integrated Pest Management with emphasis in Host Plant Resistance to Insects in the Department of Entology of ESAL, at Lavras Federal University - UFLA. Biologist graduated at FEIS/UNESP, Campus of Ilha Solteira. I have MSc and PhD degrees in Agronomy (Agricultural Entomology) at FCAV/UNESP, Campus of Jaboticabal. I coursed Sandwich Doctorate (PDSE-CAPES) at Louisiana State University - LSU, in Baton Rouge, LA, USA. I was a Postdoc fellow (FAPESP) in the Department of Plant Protection at FCAV/UNESP, working on induced resistance following insect herbivory. Coordinator of the CNPq research group "Constitutive and induced resistance in plants to insects" and of the Laboratory of Plant Resistance and IPM (LARP-MIP). Currently, I teach the courses "Applied Entomology" and "Integrated Pest Management" to undergraduate students of Agronomy and "Host Plant Resistance" to graduate students in Entomology of UFLA. I work on the research lines: 1)Host plant resistance; 2)Induced resistance to insects with elicitors; 3)Transgenic plants and pest resistance management; 4)Integrated pest management. I am interested in the following areas: constitutive and induced plant resistance, factors and mechanisms of resistance in landrace genotypes, mutants, breeding lines, and commercial cultivars; resistant cultivars and resistance elicitors in integrated pest management; plant-insect interactions; insect resistance management. Currently I am the interin chief of Entomology Department, member of the Structuring Teaching Nucleus of Agronomy course, and the representative of Entomology Department in the Comission of Scientific Iniation, Collegiate of Research and Innovation of ESAL, and Comission of Farms of ESAL.
