Professor of Biological Oceanography of the Universidade Federal da Bahia (UFBA), Igor Cruz is graduated in Biological Sciences from UFBA (2005), has a master degree in Ecology and Biomonitoring from UFBA (2008) and PhD in Ecology and Evolution from Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (2014), with exchange at the University of Essex, England. His research focuses on community ecology and coastal ecosystems ecology. His models of study are coral reefs and seagrass meadows. He Developed conservation work (Master's degree) and theoretical and experimental ecology (doctorate). Currently, he has been studying the phenomena of drastic change in the community (phase shift) and its recovery by restouration process. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
