Mario Luiz Mascagni

CV Lattes

Birthplace: Brazil

Mario Luiz Mascagni has a Master's Degree in Geological Oceanography from the Oceanographic Institute of the University of São Paulo (2012). He currently works in the environmental consultancy market in projects involving geospatial modeling from satellite images and computational numerical modeling of hydrodynamics, waves, sediment and pollutant transport (organic and inorganic) in coastal regions and rivers. The last 5 works registered at the Brazilian Association of Oceanography (AOCEANO) through Technical Qualification Declarations (DHT) were: (1) simulations of the reach of the turbidity plume in the Doce River, to be generated by the dredging operations of the Risoleta Neves Plant reservoir, silted up by the tragedy of Mariana - MG (Samarco); (2) simulations to estimate the useful life and potential sites for water supply, for processing iron ore, according to the rules of the Maravilhas III tailings dam, in Itabirito - MG (Vale S.A.); (3) simulations of the erosive potential and eventual collapse of submerged dykes containing material highly impacted by the Petrochemical Complex of Cubatão - SP, associated with the project to deepen the Piaçaguera Channel (Vale S.A.); (4) simulations of the impact on the coastline and sedimentation/silting of the submerged sector of the port complex in Barra do Riacho - ES, due to the influence of the construction works to implement the Barra do Riacho Waterway Terminal (TABR - Petrobras); and (5) long-term simulations (50 years) of the evolution of the coastline and the beach profile to support the calculation of the burial quotas of the Sergipe Profundo Gas Pipeline on the coast of Barra dos Coqueiros - SE.
